included at a cost of $10 per member. Family memberships allow multiple accounts
on the BBS, voting privileges for each member 18 and older, and drawings for
door prizes. You may join ACD either by sending in the application
or by signing up at the monthly meetings.
As of August, ACD currently has 192 primary members and 16 secondary members.
The Apple Corps of Dallas operates a multi-line electronic bulletin board service (BBS) and internet server. You can access is via a web browser at www.acd.org. However, the FirstClass communications software is the graphical user interface for the BBS and provides a better experience. It is available free on the internet or through purchase for $5 at our monthly meetings. The ACD BBS may be reached with the FirstClass software at metro (817)355-9363 or via the Internet at Server IP "fc.acd.org".
Meetings are held once a month and are usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Meetings are held at the Richardson Civic Center located at the southwest corner of Arapaho and Central Expwy. (US 75), a few miles north of I-635. More information on upcoming meetings can be found on our web page. Our main presentations are on Saturday mornings at 10am and there are Special Interest Groups that meet from 9am to 1pm.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact any of the ACD Officers! Our club is only as good as the volunteers and we need speakers, workers at the front desk, people to set up and tear down, and administrative help. Please volunteer!
The AppleGram is published bi-monthly. The next AppleGram will be the August publication. Articlers are due by August 17th and should be submitted to Taylor Sharpe <Taylor_Sharpe@acd.org>. Starting August 2001, AppleGrams are published online in HTML web page format. Previous AppleGrams are posted online in the Adobe Acrobat PDF file format. All AppleGrams since September 1996 can be found online. If you do not have access to the BBS or the internet to access the AppleGrams, contact Taylor Sharpe at (214)522-5525 to arrange for a hard copy or disk to be mailed to you.
