ACD Online
Internet BBS
ACD Online BBS has been serving the community since 1984 and it can be reached via the Internet at http://bbs.acd.org or via FirstClass® software at fc.acd.org. We use FirstClass® as a front end to our system. It allows both Macintosh and Windows users to have a very nice graphical interface. What you will find here are many conferences providing support and entertainment, lots of files, and most important, lots of help when you need it... with great comradery along the way. In addition to the information provided locally, we bring pertinent information each day from the Internet and from OneNet for your benefit. With a fast T1 Internet connection, you can connect anytime.
Software and Instructions
At ACD Online we use Centricity's FirstClass® software. We allow auto registration. All you need to do is obtain the Client and our settings file to login via the Internet.
Connect to BBS via Web Browser
You can also connect to the ACD BBS using your Web Browser. While using a Web Browser is slower than using FirstClass® software, it works well. Go to http://bbs.acd.org/ to log on via the web.
Hardware
ACD Online is run on a set of networked Apple Macintoshes, of course, on a Local Area Network connect to the Internet with a fast T1 line.
Most of the equipment has been donated, or provided at low cost to the Apple Corps.
